The Late Summer Ball this Saturday
Is anyone here going to it?
It's for raising money for the sports tours...
I'll be there!

A good time had by all, I think.
The Dining Hall was pretty full, the mist descended outside, making the Quad look very picturesque, if a little spooky, and with a bit of luck plenty of money was raised. One of my friends bid on and won a signed Sussex cricket shirt - a trifling £400!
His wife looked quite alarmed as the bidding went on.
I accidentally bid on something by inadvertantly raising my glass to my lips at the wrong moment. I didn't touch another drop until the bidding was over!
And Matt, your dad did a splendid job at the bar. I've no idea how they coped with the initial scrum....
I even had a dance (just the one, mind...).

The alarm was ringing as we arrived, so we just hung around outside for a bit and took a few photos.
Apparently the ladies weren't too enamoured of their khazi (a bit decrepit, by all accounts, and not really designed for hundreds of wine-fuelled punters), but everything else was fine.

You never saw the 'emergency' loo's in the Arts School quad, Katharine !Katharine wrote:I was singularly unimpressed with the Ladies Loo off the Court Room when we were there for DR's Memorial Service. I don't think it has been refurbished since it was originally built way back when...
Not only did they leave a lot to be desired, they would have given 'cottaging' a bad name.
