The great and long-awaited public Memorial to commemorate the 55,573 young men of Bomber Command who died in World War Two will be unveiled by Her Majesty The Queen in Green Park, London on 28 June 2012. The total number of Old Blues who served as aircrew in Bomber Command is not known for certain but was about 2-300 and of those, no less than thirty died in action or on operational training:
