Re: Andy Gray and Sky
I've said my piece on various of the Guardian and BBC blogs, but feel that since he wasn't going to resign, he should have been sacked.
Same goes for Keys.
The NOW court case is a convenient red herring.

SACKED ?
On one of my football sites, it was implied that Gray had been 'Hung Out To Dry' !
I stated he just should have been just HUNG, as he'd done more for womens football in 24 hours than Adolph did for good relations with the Jews between 1939 and 1945 !! Needless to say - I'm in trouble again.
At least that overweight failed breakfast TV presenter, Keys had the decency to fall on his sword before he was executed !

Re: Andy Gray and Sky
I believe he was sacked, but having been in a few disciplinary hearings in my time about offense and discrimination I find the whole thing a bit fishy. It is very rare that having been reprimanded for one evnt, other 'well known' events can then be brought up retrospectively and be used as a second offence. My understanding is that the reprimand would have warned them both as to their future conduct, and therefore cannot be used as part of a hearing about previous events.
I am sure ther are some better amateur employment lawyers out there who can advise differently?
Having said that he should probably have gone with some dignity as per Big Ron and others.

When people are "In the Public Eye" -- whether on, or off, duty, adverse publicity is always just around the corner.
This is the second, and doubtless not the last, occasion on which someone has not noticed that the microphone was still "Live"
I agree with JR, that their stupid comments have been an insult, and that the punishment was inevitable.
On one small point ----- I think "Hanged" rather than "Hung" ---- although the latter conjures up interesting possibilities !

'Hanged' is the correct term for juidicial execution where the neck is broken by the drop and death is instant (allegedly).
'Hung' refers to the old western american form of lynching where death is caused by strangulation.
.... just a technical point, and has no reference to ones manhood !
