I just had a text from Anon. about the following :-

Apparently he gets it tonight, in a private audience. Congratulations to an eminent Old Blue!

Congratulations Sir. His sisters used to be so proud of him at the start of his career. I first saw hin as assistant conductor for a ballet company in 1952.

Re: Sir Colin Davis
Did you know Lenon Beeson, Neill? He is a friend and I gather he was a contemporary of Bernard Levin and therefore, now, of yours?

I wonder how Sir Colin feels about a Classic FM favourite--Einaudi, and I don't care if I have the spelling wrong. Repetitious nonsense.

Ain't that good!midget wrote:I wonder how Sir Colin feels about a Classic FM favourite--Einaudi, and I don't care if I have the spelling wrong. Repetitious nonsense.
But I fear a little musical snobbery may be creeping in; I quite enjoy Classic FM myself except for its addiction to The Trout. I've learned quite a bit from CFM - and of course from my extremely well-informed partner, who introduced me to the pleasure of live opera!
