Old Blues Day...

Post by Great Plum »

Is anyone here going?

It's a bit of a bad time for me, bewing the Saturday before Baby Plum is due so I don't think I can make it...

As an aside, the first I'd heard of it was in yesterday's Lousey (I mean Housey of course!) - I don't think many of my peers know it's happening... I'd better set up a Facebook group!

I'm not absolutely sure yet, but I'm hoping to make it.

It depends on daughters, AND due to the earlier terrible weather this year, we have quite a run-in of re-scheduled footy matches to contend with.

My problem is that the three seperate Leagues I'm connected with seem to be revising their fixture list on a weekly basis.

P0xy weather !

No not this year... I have yet to go! I find it hard to go back to 'where my parents live and i lived' on an organsiaed day. Maybe next year when the parental unit have left the school I can do it. Also I would want to know contemporaries who i want to see will be there

Oh Yes !--- The Notorious will, himself, be there ---
Should any OBs wish to identify him, before attackung him, he will be wearing a Guards Tie,and sporting a red Cammelia.
Should you not know what a Guards Tie looks like ----- I do not wish to know you -- you must have come from th Unfashionable Western End of CH ! !
Seriously, I should be delighted to meet and greet any any of you --- one has mental images of Posters, probably entirely inaccurately.
I look forward to seeing you ---
I am not joking about the tie and buttonhole -- that is really how I dress for these occasions !

Much as I would enjoy meeeting Neill in all his glory I can't make it this year, maybe next. For convenience I now have a niece living in Pulborough.

Apologies !------- My beloved Wife has pointed out that not ALL people , whether of Eastern or Western Avenue, will have been in the Household Brigade !
The Guards Tie is of broad Red and Blue diagonal stripes, with (In my case )Miniature Shamrocks on it -- (Irish Guards )
The Camelia colour will remain the same -- RED !

There Dear --- is that now all right ? please don't hit me any more !

Anyone know how late one can register?

I have a daughter working abroad who MIGHT be home for a flying visit. If so I wouldn't make it. However if she is unable to come then I would think about Old Blues Day as I haven't been to one in a while although I attended a House Reunion in 2006.

I believe the CHA were going to publish a list of Old Blues, attending --- I havn't seen anything yet.
Nevertheless, I promise to spoil the Party, by being there !

I notice that some of the regrets, involve living Overseas, and Pregnancy ---- can these be accepted ??
