I really like Einaudi! I even saw him live at De Montfort Hall once - a wonderful evening! (ducks & runs for cover!!)

Sorry to say I don't know Lenon Beeson --- we probably met, being of similar years at CH.

I was, however, in Barnes B -- and he, in Thornton so ----

Very funny! I shall remain an unrepentant musical moron, then - I just don't have the time to listen to entire symphonies!

I'm with you. I have Classic FM on at home both on the bedroom clock radio and downstairs on the main HiFi centre. It gets me up in the morning, and while I am out at work keeps my dog and cats company. In the car I have Radio 3 - so I get a good 40 minutes or so of uninterrupted decent music every morning and every evening, as I drive to and from work.
Radio 3 (with the full symphonies etc.) is my preferred station, but only when I have time to listen to it!
In which connection (and with apologies to Sir Colin) here is a commercial. Last Saturday I attended a singing workshop with the BBC Singers (in Maida Vale), and two of the carols we rehearsed will be on air on BBC 3 over Christmas. Listen out for the Breakfast Show from 8.30 on Christmas morning, and the same on New Year's Eve. The two carols which were recorded were In Dulci Jubilo and God Rest You Merry Gentlemen.

My cousin, Susannah Simons, was in at the start of Classic FM, although now she is now Head of Public Affairs & Outreach, BBC Radio & Music.
Small world as she knows DBTS´s daughter, who is also Susanna (without an H).

I remember Susannah Simons. She wasn't the one who was Michael Miles's daughter, was she? I think there was another Classic FM presenter around the same time who was, but I can't remember her name (it wasn't Miles!).

Susannah is the daughter of Peter Simons and Betty Edwards. Peter is my mother's older brother.
From the age of about 4 to eleven I used to visit them for the summer.
I have never heard or seen Susannah broadcasting.
