Can't remember her name, unfortunately.

Couldn't forget C.W., though. She seemed about 7 ft tall, her skirts were about 6 inches long, and she was Dutch to boot.

Quite distracting for a bunch of 13 / 14 year olds........

I couldn't help noticing: what is the bush growing at the right of the picture?

When we were first married, and I was much thinner and better looking, we were in a large Department Store.
A young and pretty Saleslady came up to me and asked "Can I help you / "
A voice growled ---- "HEEL !"
and we have giggled about it ever since !

Looks a bit like an undeadheaded upright -growing hybrid tea rose - I'm probably wrong -

Neill the Notorious: "I'm 81 ------- and I ain't dead yet !"
Reminds me of the the late, great Mae West.
Questioner: "How do you know if a man is thinking of sex?"
Mae West: "Is he still breathing?"

Barnes B matron Miss Van Alphen (nick-name Vonny I think) was pretty frightening with the dreaded foot inspections where she would violently pull ones toes apart to look for dirt and if she found dirt 3 times running one was punished by having a MATRONS BATH. I remember Chris Humphries had too have one and was so embarrassed to be bathed like a baby by the Van Alphen and tried to cover his nascent manhood with a flannel - some of us were outside the room trying not to giggle - and she whipped it away saying "Vhy do you coffer that up! I've seen plenty of those before!" It was as hilarious to us as it must have been mortifying for poor young Humphries. In Peele B Mrs Wylie was more kind and I'll never forget the terrible day she reversed her car over one of her sausage dogs - she had a pair of them up to that day and loved them dearly. We were so sorry for her.

I recall that one chap had an unfortunate exhibition of Puberty, while waiting to be inspected by Miss Watts .

He shall remain nameless, because he may be a contributor to this Forum.

Her response was "Go away, and think of something else !" --- I think she was quite ignorant of the fact that these things can happen unexpectedly --- even to the Incumbent --- at that age !

Of course the story did the rounds of Ba B and I believe Ma A !
Nowadays, with Sons, Grandsons and a Great-Grandson, I know more about the problem, and I feel so sorry for the chap !
