Anything that doesn't fit anywhere else, but that's still CH related.

New Deputy Grecian Hopeful

Post by tallulahcherry »

Hi everybody! I am currently in year 10 at a comprehensive in Leicestershire, but would love to attend CH for Year 12 and 13 ( I am dissapointed I didn't have the chance earlier in my life, although even as little as two years out of my education at such a great school would be fantastic! )
Anyway, I have lots of questions ...

...I understand the process looks at your background and homelife, but how much of a priority is given regarding this? As in how much of the decision is based on home life rather than your academic abilities?

...How many candidates are there for entry into year 12?

...How many new Deputy Grecians are there?

...Is it easy to settle in and adapt to boarding life?

...I live approximately 3 hours away - do you go home every third weekend, or can you stay? ( A three hour journey wouldn't be pleasant twice every three weeks, especially for my parents!) And also, relating to this, what is the best way to travel to the school from Leicestershire; train, car etc. ?

I'm going to be sending off the application form soon for entry in 2010! Wish me luck!

Hi, welcome to the forum, but it is for over 16s only. We have had the occasional Year 11 who has applied for the following year but you are a bit on the young side.

Having said that, most of your questions are answered on previous New Dep threads and by going to the CH website itself.

What a wonderful name! I love it!
