Anything that doesn't fit anywhere else, but that's still CH related.

Are you using www.buy.at/CHA?? Free money for CH...

Post by jtaylor »

Are you using http://www.buy.at/CHA ??
Did you know about http://www.buy.at/CHA ??

Did you know that CH gets a percentage of every purchase made by clicking-through http://www.buy.at/CHA, sometimes significant amounts?
e.g. Sign-up to
3G Mobile - CH gets £80, at no cost to you!
ASDA Finance - Home Insurance - CH gets £68 / Car Insurance - CH gets £58
ASDA Groceries - £5 to CH when you register and place an order, then 2.5% of every purchase
Full List of retailers in one page

How can we get the message out there? How can push every Old Blues, Parent and anyone else associated with CH to go through http://www.buy.at/CHA for ALL their online purchases where they can?

I know about it but haven't used it because my children's school do it as well. They have now left so will probably use the CH one.

The best publicity would be to report how much money has been raised so far (assuming it is a significant amount).

I answered None of the above - yes I do shop online, but only fairly specialised items which I have not found on the site so does that mean I have used it or not? I have looked but not bought through it.

I clicked on 'None of the above' - I did know about it (though I hadn't looked at the list of people from whom to buy, but have done so now); I do shop online (I do most of my shopping online, in fact); I either already 'belong' to some of these organisations (e.g. I have an Egg credit card; I buy regularly from Amazon) so it's too late for CH to benefit from that. In the immediate future I can't see me buying from any of the other suppliers.
But I wish the scheme well!

It's worth clarifying that it's NOT too late, certainly for the Amazon site and many others - all you need to do is click through from http://buy.at/CHA EVERY TIME YOU PLACE AN ORDER. It knows where you came from for that session, and hence will donate to CH for every event!

And my regular monthly payments to my Egg credit card? These are quite significant (it's on that card that I buy fuel and against which I have set up my PayPal account for purchases via eBay and - for instance - payments to this Forum). My purchases on Amazon are sporadic and spasmodic.. I wait until I have found enough to buy that gives me free p and p. Not sure that going through the CHA website would make that any less beneficial for me? Think I might be being a bit thick here.. sorry!

KNew nothing about this, but then am new to the fray - same question (I think) as Kerren, will this work after I've joined/opened an account with one of the suppliers linked to the scheme? :?:

There's no loss to the end user - so with the Amazon example, do exactly what you'd normally do, but go to http://buy.at/CHA, click on the Amazon link. This'll take you to the regular Amazon website. Add your purchases to the shopping cart, logging-in as usual, pay and finish. The Amazon website knows you've come through the CHA site, and hence gives a kick-back to CH! Simple as that....
Amazon don't make it clear on the buy.at/CHA site what the contribution is - I think it's not a simple bit of maths, and hence not shown. They're an exception I think, but they DO contribue for everything spent. Their comment "The largest online retailer with a range now includes DIY, home and kitchen. Free postage on orders over £15." is simply clarifying what they offer, but they also give a contribution of the cost of each order to CH.

Re. Egg - All they're offering is effectively a joining-bonus - so if you're already with them, you can't get it for CH. BUT, if you know someone who doesn't have an Egg card, get them to get one! CH gets £20!

Does that make it clearer? Or have I just mudied the water??
