Does Anyone know what the Barnes B House crest is???

Didn't realise we had a crest, at least I never looked.
According to my 1946 edition of Housey
Motto on sundial Umbra fugit, manet res

No idea what that means but the erudites on the forum will no doubt tell us.

Barnes was a regius professor at Cambridge, but whether he had a crest, I don't know.

House Colours Red and white
House Badge Red St Andrew's cross

but then you knew that anyway.

Surely all Houses had a house crest on the blazer ?

As I re-call, Coleridge B was a raised dagger !

Quite correct, red dagger is what it says, shades of Lance Corporal Jones of Dad's Army.

Each block had a crest but the "B" was (from memory), red whilst (again from memory), the "A" was white.

ISTR what one block had a rose (shades of York versus Lancaster!) but I cannot remember any others.

Again from the 1946 Housey

House Badges

Peele A - White Maltese cross
Peele B - Red Maltese cross
Thornton A - White rose
Thornton B - Red and White rose
Middleton A - White fleur-de-lys
Middleton B - Red fleur=de-lys
Coleridge A - White dagger
Coleridge B - Red dagger
Lamb A - White lion rampant
Lamb B - Red lion rampant
Barnes A - White St.Andrew's cross
Barnes B - Red St.Andrew's cross
Maine A - White, upright cross
Maine B - Red, upright cross

It also mentions that some of the badges were taken from the school arms.

The prep had no badge, does Leigh Hunt now have one?

It's almost the same as the barnes A crest which is a blue shield outline with a red 'X' inside it, the barnes b one however is red, not very exciting I'm afraid. I have a Ba.A one somewhere will look for it.
