Surely the Mansion House was the traditional venue? The Guildhall was a stopgap as I understood it.
From 1993-99, it was always at the Guildhall (whilst it was being rebuilt!)

What was fun, Josh? The exchange above or St. Matthew's Day (parade or pub?)

Hee hee. No, St. Matthew's Day - very enjoyable! If only every march took an hour to complete. And I was lucky - I spotted a fair few YOBs - most of them leavers 07.
Someone behind me was asked by a pedestrian who went up to them and said, "Why are you marching?"
And Tom Ellis (Drum Major) was given a friendly punch on the arm (you know what I mean - the kind of punch used as a greeting) and asked, "Y'all right, mate?" Really funny.
Luckily I didn't hear the E-word mentioned at all. Or the R-S-word.

Well, next year, would you like me to walk behind you with a big arrow saying the Emperor on it?

Actually Matt it could be better to walk behind Josh with a huge sign saying 'KISS'. Goodness knows who/what that might attract..........

Would Mr. G.S. waive his copy-write, though ?

I'm sure he owns the logo the way it's written, with the 'S's written in a somewhat Germanic way, akin to the 1940's,
