If you click the x in the corner to close the note that tells you rather than 'ok' it opens

I seem to have caused a few problems! Don't understand why though!

When I previewed it prior to posting the link opened for me when I clicked on it and did so again today when I tested it having read the subsequent posts.

Same for me; an impressive CV

I am hoping to include an obit in the OB section of the forthcoming edition of the Blue (material required imminently). Can anyone find a pic - I have searched the internet long and hard - or give me his dates at CH and house?

From the Telegraph

He was born Clive Jack Montague Brooks in London on April 11, 1930. The son of a minor civil servant, he grew up in Islington, a bookish child whose shyness could be misread as arrogance. He won a scholarship to Christ's Hospital, but was unhappy, caused trouble and had to leave at 16.

The independent says we are a private school.

He may be in the Who's Blue under his own name, and you could work out his dates from the above, he must have left in 1946.

From the Guardian

The son of a civil servant, Exton was born in Islington, north London, and won a scholarship to Christ's Hospital, where he achieved a reputation for irreverence by throwing a piece of margarine which missed its target and defaced a valuable painting by Antonio Verrio.

Not the first and not the last, just a question of shooting too high.

How do you spoil an oil painting with margarine?

Exton's dates

Post by Rex »

The house and dates of Exton/Brooks have normally been given as Mid B 1941-45, but in Who's Blue 1997 he gave his date of arrival as 1940. I'd be surprised if Sylvia Miller at CH couldn't tell you which version is accurate.
