Anything that doesn't fit anywhere else, but that's still CH related.

My, my, there's loads of them! In which case, even if it's already been announced on here, I'd like to remind any people who were Scouts, that there's the centenary campfire w/barbeque on the 16th. The BBQ will be lit at 6pm, and the whole thing will probably go on till late - you are most welcome to sleep in the wood!

What actually happens on OB day, anyway?

Hope to meet lots of you on Sunday, when I will also be asking for volunteers to take photos and write impressions of the day.

Nothing formal, just one liners that we can cobble together to give those who can't make it, a feel for the day.

(Now, now, JR, just calm down)

We (the Old Blues) come back to the school to meet old friends, have a look around and generally reminisce.
You (the current pupils) look at us, look after us, smarten up and all 'wear your Broadie Buckles' at the front. :o

Nice to see you on the Forum Josh.

Do you remember OB's day when you were at school, John ? I seem to remember some wag in Coleridge B liking it to Old Fogey's Day !

Come and find us and say Hello Josh.

You'll be surprised just how young at heart we all really are !

Agree with the first part but can't remember doing any of the second when I was at CH.
Being in the band, I assume Old Blues marched in but never really paid much attention.
There may well have been cricket, swimming and sundry other sports against Old Blues by those who were better at sports than me, but apart from being polite, which applied to any visitor, I can't remember a great impact.
This year the grecians are invited to tea, so that will be great because it never happened in my time.
Just take it in your stride as with everything else at CH.

Interesting you should say that - there's a small group of about 4 of us (Tristan, Jonny E, Tom R and myself) who do that already - we call ourselves the MRFB (Movement for the Restoration of Front Buckles)! When did they go to the back, anyway?

Thanks!

Hello Josh,
Not too sure when it started, certainly not in my day...
There is a thread, somewhere on this forum on the same subject.
I like the sound of your MRFB group... I will try and get the new Headmaster to back you up!!

Ah, excellent! Thanks for the help! (though don't get me started on the new HM...)

I seem to remember that wearing the Broadie to the back or the side was almost a 'Hanging-Offence' in my day.

Just slightly off centre at the from was fine though.

Incidently, I've found and am in the process of soaking and cleaning my Broadie. Its BLACK, though, I can just about make out the hall-mark which Jan will 'read' when its clearer !

I've said it before, and I'll say it again---IT ISN'T FAIR! You lads had a much better uniform than we did (pre 1985) . Jealousy got me nowhere then and it sure aint getting me anywhere now. I'll probably have another jealous fit on Sunday. I promise to behave!

Oh, Maggie, how absolutely boring of you. How could you upset all your fans?

And I won't have the opportunity to learn how to misbehave

:( :( :(
Having more money doesn't make you happier. I have 50 million dollars
but I'm just as happy as when I had 48 million.

I think the girls a CH today are very smart and I am proud of them... something that the boys should note.
