Forum for Governor

Post by jhopgood »

Do you realise that if all the people registered on the forum put in about £20 each, the forum could become a CH Governor?

What an interesting idea......would be rather nice if the forum could become a Governor....
How nice to feel that the community could sponsor a child through CH - and all as the results of a free online community. Maybe a first??

We might find it hard to find a presentee.......depending on the criteria the Forum agrees to set. The OB's from Hertford have a corporate presentation fund - three girls in the school at the moment (daughters or granddaughters of Old Girls). Although we have extended the brief now to include sons and grandsons, none of our recent chosen candidates have got through the entrance exams.
It appears that the level of 'need' which we consider worthy of consideration is a lot harder than that considered by the BSB - who, incidentally, are not making a presentation this year, either......
The profile of the school does seem to be changing....

You go for it, Yvonne. Perhaps you need to impress upon your daugher that the CH opportunities are so very much greater than she would ever enjoy at a local secondary day school and that she would make friends for life - on top of which (if we in our fund accept her!) her education might be paid for by other women who went to her Mum's school, that might clinch it....
We have at least one, if not two, presentation(s) currently available.

Sounds like an excellent idea

It's such an opportunity for her but at her age I doubt she can see that yet.
She has another 3 full years left at primary school in addition to the rest of this year so I guess over that time her views could change as regards CH. She's quite a quiet girl and unless she knows you then she could come across as very shy. She says she would miss us if she was away at school. I know she would and I guess at her age it's probably quite a scary thought to think of not living at home.
The school she would go to here backs onto our road so it's very convenient and does have a good reputation (in fact one of the forum members here has taught there!). However, it obviously pales into significance as far as CH is concerned. Ho hum. Will see how it goes over the next couple of years or so.

Why not bring her to Old Blues Day? Perhaps not this year but in two years time. She could take the exam but she doesn't have to take up the place if she doesn't want it.

And don't mention it in the meantime.

Yes I might do the Old Blues thing in a couple of years. In the meantime I think i will keep quiet about the whole CH thing!
