Catherine Standing (Cooper) Canteen Cath 1.12 (1983-85) & Col A 20 (1985-90) Any idiot can deal with a crisis. It takes a genius to cope with everyday life.
It's not the kids, it's my husband, and before anyone says anything remotely smutty, he's working very late and up very early and I tend to stay up and do things (like laundry etc) while he's up. The kids are no trouble at night. Cora has always slept like a baby. Ever since she was a baby in fact. 12 hours at night and 1 or 2 during the day, no fussing when I have to go downstairs and now that she's in a proper bed, never gets out of it. Couldn't ask for more. Beth on the other hand was a nightmare. When I met hubby she was 3 and never slept through the night without a problem until I was pregnant and had come to the end of my tether. We were like an episode of Supernanny for a while, but we got there. So to all new parents out there, don't give in to the little b*ggers when they are small. You will make a rod for your own back and go mental. And if you are a single parent, a new partner will find it a huge problem and it may well jeopardise any burgeoning relationship.
