No I didn't play the trombone, although I did try at a party in Streatham recently. Quite fun but singing's more my thing.
So releived (i before e except after c) to hear that you have a sense of H

Sometimes I do a silly post and manage to offend

Very glad not to have offended you

Kind of you to put my mind at rest

I have never offended Richard Ruck, the stalwart of this place with a great sense of H and in his time a fantastic trombone player

And the worlds best expert on Adge Cutler (don't ask)

p.s. have a look at the limericks section of this forum

There are some incredibly witty ones, and not only by me... :)
I don't think I'd have got through CH without the good old GSOH.

I've read the potted history of Adge somewhere on here. As I've just mentioned somewhere else, it's amazing what you learn...

Will go off now and search for the limericks. Don't really do jokes (just evil humour, usually at others' expense :D ).
You should check out your name-sake in the old bible - I'm sure there was a Ruth there

Was she good or.................bad?

Maybe I will look now

I am actually doing my 13 yr olds home work - sorry HELPING her with it

She was good.

Better than me (not that that says much).

She married some bloke to help out her sister, or something. Think she flirted with him lots so her gave her food.

I would never do that.

Might have got the whole Bible thing wrong, bit a hazy memory...

What you wouldnt flirt, or wouldnt give someone food

I spend my life giving people food

Big family

Greedy children

Used to enjoy flirting

Wonder if Richard Ruck is sober - he had a lot of rugger boys round today to have a beer and watch the international match

Well, it is a pic of me but I don't actually look like that.

One forum member just rang me up to ask if it was really me! So it's not a good likeness.

I think we should regularly change our pics so the others can have a laugh.

yes but you are an extremely handsome man

no wonder the ladies are so fond of you

p.s. in Shakespearean times "fond" meant "mad"

But it is alleged that Shakespeare never even wrote his plays !

(I think it was Ernie Wise !)

There are some people who insist he was GAY

"So What" I say; he was still a master of our language and I wish the younger people would appreciate him and others, Chaucer for one
