Clive Kemp (RIP)
I've several private messages asking me what happened to Mr Kemp. As I left CH 9 years ago I don't know so could someone shed some light as to how he died ?
My therapist says I have a preoccupation with vengeance. We’ll see about that.

That's so sad. But I guess I'd rather go out with a bang than fade away.
He was certainly one of the teachers at CH that made my time there more than worthwhile. He was a gem of a man. Comedy French idioms like "Not tonight, I'm washing my hair" will be with me for ever. And those Ice Axe lessons in Austria were fantastic.
But he did give me my one and only detention.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

And watch Mr Bean videos!
I remember having a really good laugh with him when I helped out with the entrance exams.
Do you remember all those miniature bottles he had in his study?

Porto, portas, portat....portamus, portatis, portatant....
Sure it had something to do with root vegetables, with doors, or living somewhere?
And that's after a good few glasses of Southern Comfort!

I guess many are not members of the CH Club which seems to be the only (pre-UCHF) way of updating OBs about news/events (mostly via The Blue, see the discussion about that here). 'Tis also true that sad news doesn't tend to spread like wildfire.stoice wrote:Well this must prove how bad the Old Blue Network is!!!

CHK
Mr Kemp was a great bloke - he taught me and my sister and always had time for people. CH ran through his blood (even his initials were CH !) - he must have been teaching there for almost 40 years. He did have a reputation for being a "bit square" and a stickler for rules but at the same time he was fair. A frighteningly nimble man he almost seemed to glide around as if on a cushion of air. He ALWAYS wore a dark blue jacket. I hope the school puts up some sort of memorial to him.
