Bob Sillett's son, Joe, founded the company... I think they found an old bat in RDTS's garage that was riddled with woodworm at the top - they sanded it down and Joe went on to score a century with it and the company was born...

Yes that's right as I found the infro on the net. The company was sold to a larger sports outfit that does golf apparel and othercricket equipment. No idea where Joe is now...

Must say when I last saw Bob Sillet (2004) I was impressed how white his beard had become...I always remember him with a strong ginger tone. Neill Simms was the same and he became even whiter when I bumoed in to him a few years back...

You might check the spelling of NEILL(?) simms ---

I am NEILL with two LLs since I was christened O'NEILL (Grandmother's family) I dropped the O (In company with other things !) in the Army.

I should hate to think that Mr Simms would be thought NOTORIOUS !!!

I have just re-read this post, and I realise that my remark about the Army -- could be mis-construed
