good point DavidRawlings.........though do you have to be looking 'into' the sun to be sensitive to glare on a very sunny day?

Derek Baker might at least have taken the trouble to put on a suit (Seaman was never seen without one, not that he ever appeared in First Partings photos). But that was probably the least of his (DB's) failings as HM.

When he left (and as far as I recall, his leaving was quite unexpected), the sigh of relief from some members of the staff was loud enough to be audible even on my side of the Channel.
