Hi All

Parculiar request i know, but does anyone know of where I could get a school tie from as CHA have stopped doing them.

If anyone could shed some light on this I would be very grateful as I'm trying to get my hands on one.

It seems that the future availability of C.H. memorabilia is still under discussion.

There were no ties on sale on Old Blues Day, so I presume that they've all been sold.

You might be able to persuade someone at the C.H.A. to rummage around in a few cupboards for you.

Ties: there certainkly used to be shops in Burlington Arcade (west end) and Liverpool Street (City) selling regimental and old school ties including the normal red and gold stripe on bark blue. The "badge" tie was not publicly available.

Incidentally, I appeared one day wearing said OB tie next to my guardian who was wearing an RNVR (Wavy Navy) tie which is identifcal except the stripes are wavy, notstraight). Raised a few eyebrows!

I understand it is also similar to one of the engineers regimental tie. Not sure if that is R.E or R.E.M.E.

I saw CH ties, amongst others, fairly recently in one of those catalogues that comes with the papers. Don`t recall which it was though- sorrry.

and socks, not yellow ones but CH colours.

I've got both 'official' ties.

The blue club tie with the CH badge, and the striped tie which is very old as I inherited it from my late Grand-Father. Working it out, it must be well over 80 years old.

you can buy my tie off me. i never wear it, probably never will. and they're not even silk. and they're ugly (diagonal stripes on a tie?! argh!).
have to be a reasonable offer though, what with them being rare-ish now.

Did you know.......American ties have diagonals one way, and Brit ones go the other way?

Mary, where on earth do you dig up these things ? (remind me never to play you at Trivial Pursuit...)
