Usher Theatre Company: Does It Still Exist?

Back when I was a babe in arms, the CH staff started staging plays themselves now and then, calling themselves Usher Theatre Company. I remember productions of (I think) 'Black Comedy', 'The Room', 'The Dumb Waiter' and (possibly) 'Hay Fever'. Fond memories of Reggie Watters & Pat Cullen being really rather good as Gus & Ben in 'The Dumb Waiter'.
Does this kind of indecent display still take place at the Christ Hospital?

There is still a CH community play which takes place (I think) every summer with members of staff etc making fools out of themselves...

Well, that's that sorted out. And now for question #2.
Has Christ Horsepital ever hosted the BBC's famed granny-furniture bloodbath, Antiques Roadshow? If not, it flamin' well should.

Yes in 1994 I think - I was one of the ushers (it was the summer holidays of my 3rd form!)

And Mastermind

Magnus ballsed up by saying the programme had come from Hersham not Horsham!

AFAIR Songs of Praise twice and on one occasion they chose a whole set of hymns that nobody (even the pupils I suspect) had never heard before - a shambles
As for Mastermind, when you can speak Icelandic as well as he speaks English, then you can criticise.

Perhaps he had just sat on a hot geyser. (BTW - did anyone else see the TV programme where an Englishman went on live Icelandic TV in Icelandic just 1 week after starting to learn the language; he seems to have got away with it as well. Pity Housie didn't have language teachers like his )

Surely the mastermind criticism is a little uncalled for. He was presenting an English show, in England.
When I get to present an Icleandic show in Iceland and balls up my intonation, then feel free to lather on the criticism.
Seem to remember being called in for loads of rehearsals for a Harry Secombe show. Seem to think that was Highway - or am I wrong?

I seem to have a distant memory of Hay Fever (starring Mrs Penny, Pinky P?) and The Rivals.......

I remember
The Rivals, throwing fake snow from the roofspace. It has Mrs Peto in the main role.
