It's still beyond me why the school agreed to do this... (COUGH £££££££££ COUGH)
Pretty funny though.

Seems the programme has its own chat forum, too. Had a quick look - mostly the usual "I think so-and-so is hot" crap.
However, it seems that the programme goes out with subtitles to help our Septic cousins to understand what's going on -

Looks like you were pretty spot on with your description of the website, Richard. On one posting they discuss how they need subtitles to understand the British accents and then, in another posting, someone writes "there ann-sisters" (supposed to be "their ancestors"

) Unfortunately, being a grad student in the USA I have to put up with this level of intelligence on a daily basis: I was proctoring a lab exam on Friday and, near the end, warned the students that they should now be at their penultimate station - they all looked really confused and so I had to rephrase with " next-to last"
Moral of the story - never feel inadequate next to a North American

It's sad that most of the comments seem to be:
oh she's so hot...

Well, they have to try to use words which they can spell......

I wouldn't dream of it!
My business partner is Canadian - I'm sure he would disagree with the 'North American' bit.
He's none too polite about the Yanks, though.

Nothing like adding a bit of COLOR to the forum.

i knew i could count on you two. anyone else? prizes for the most imaginative usernames, though i fear the wit and intellect may be wasted on the people who use the VH1 boards...
part of me is itching to see the program, part of me will want to hide behind the sofa when it is aired. am i schizophrenic or is it expected for Old Blues to be in two minds about it?

I would like to see this show.I can't find anything on this Gene person's site that says if it is to be shown in Canada. Does anyone out there know? And what is VHI? (I know I should know etc. but . . .)

patronising git
VH1 is a music TV channel (bit like MTV). they also do music-related programs which get shown on other channels.
it probably will get shown in canada. for one, they seem to get more american TV than we do. secondly, quite a few that i've met love all the old, royal-ish, archetypal british stuff.

Ah me! What am I missing? More soap ops? More inane 'music' channels? More sports? More stupid people talking about stupid things? More ads?
I know I will have to succumb eventually because my tv won't receive signals any more at some point but until then I guess I'll just have to make do with the 55 channels I get now and read a few books instead of watching even more. And I still don't know how to find the CH programme -which is what I asked.
Thanks Hendrick for your comments. Sometimes PBS gets British programmes so I will keep an eye out for CH there. And perhaps it will come out on video ...or has it already?(Sorry, perhaps it's only on DVD?)
