I have just heard through the Old Blue Grapevine that Rock School, is showing here in Australia next week.

Does this present a balanced(ish) view of Housey, or should I hope that nobody watches it and deny all similarities between my cv and the program?

I have no doubt that CH will not be protrayed in a reasonable way!

When is 'Rock School' being broadcast in the U.K.? Are there any specific dates?

I thought it would have been shown in the UK already, hence the question.

Well I can confirm that it is already showing in the US on VH1 10pm EDT Fridays. Did not watch it though - just landed and got home after 31 hours travelling - so what did I do - went drinking. lol.

PS Why the hell does it censor the word watch?

It didn't like the abreviation of didn't followed by watch - if you remove the space between the words, it's spells a censored word!
I've removed the abbreviatino above, so it's not filtered any more!

And repeated on the Saturday as well. I'm going to have to introduce my American friends to the program. No doubt the school will be quaint!

I saw the first half, I think it is a series.

It began with Simmons walking right up to the band in the middle of parade, looking as if he owned the place. I'm sure there's a few retired bandmasters that would have given him a good slap for doing that!

My initial opinion is, 'could have been worse'.

G.S. Rock School

I saw episode 1 via Tivo so did not have to sit through many commercials.

The students came across well and the school was not denigrated. GS was just what you'd expect. The Deputy head had a bad script and seemed really awkward and uncomfortable.

Main question; what is it all for? VH1, the promoters and GS all make money I suppose but does CH benefit?

Wait and see; there are 5 or 6 more episodes, the next one Friday at 10.30pm in the USA.

I try to stay away from CH stuff as much as possible but rock school has been kinda difficult for me as I work for magazines interviewing bands like good charlotte and mastadon etc so rock n' roll hitting my old school is kinda like a magnet.

I have been in new york for over a month so I have seen alot of rock school on TV. It's absolutely hysterical because I no longer go there but I kinda feel sorry for you guys still there because its made you look like a bunch of snobby private school chumps which a you're not. I dont know why the school let Gene Simmons do the programme coz everyone knows he is an arse hole. Maybe the school needs the money, I dont know but Simmons corp will be getting fat off the programme coz it is really funny, but at the students expense.

What I am interested in, is how the small number of kids from the whole year who are auditioned for the band got chosen to go on the programme . Was it the TV producers/Simmons choice or the schools? You didnt get to see the initial choosing of the 10-15 people in that age group. The answer will shed a lot of light on how the show has come across.
Nice one!
