Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year to all who help to keep this site alive and interesting, whether by their regular postings or by simply viewing -- and of course special wishes to its anchor Julian Taylor. I look forward in hope to a better 2024 and especially peace in the Middle East. I spent the majority of my working life in the Levant/Middle East and the events of 2023 continue to be particularly distressing for me.
