List of ex-CH staff convictions and details

Below is the definitive list of ex-CH staff and CH-related individuals who’ve been convicted of sexual abuse or harassment in some way or other.
If you spot any errors or omissions, please do let me know asap and I’ll update the list here.


1: Peter Burr, (dob 21/10/1944), pleaded guilty to a total of nine charges of indecent assault against boys aged 11 to 14, and was sentenced to six years and seven months imprisonment.
Offences between 1969 and 1973.
RELEASED: 20th April 2021

2: Michael Porteous, (dob ???), Former Chaplain at CH. The former art and music teacher convicted of abusing a 12-year-old boy at Richmond's King's House Prep School in the 1970s. Alegation made in 2012, when Porteous was living in Thailand. Arrested 2013. Jailed jailed for sexual abuse for two and a half years and placed on the sex offenders register for life at Kingston Crown Court, 6th October 2014
Offence in the 1970s.

3: Roger Martin, (dob ??), Convicted on 4th July 2019 and sentenced to 4 years for indecent assault of a 10 year-old.
Offence between September and December 1976.

4: Revd Peter Ball, (dob 14/02/1932)
Relationship with CH chaplaincy, performed Confirmation services, pupils sent to him for emotional support.
From Wikipedia: "In October 2015, Ball was sentenced to 32 months' imprisonment for misconduct in public office and indecent assault after admitting the abuse of 18 young men over a period of 15 years from 1977 to 1992." "On 8 September 2015 Ball pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent assault and one of misconduct in a public office. His trial began on 5 October 2015. Two charges of indecently assaulting two boys in their early teens, perhaps the most serious alleged offences, were allowed to lie on file in a deal with CPS lawyers. He was eligible for parole after 18 months, and served under a month for each victim. Ball was released from prison on licence in February 2017, after having served 18 months, half of his sentence. Died 23/6/2019 ".
Offences between 1977 to 1992.

5: Peter John Herbert Webb, (dob 06/12/1942), pleaded guilty to a total of 11 charges of indecent assault on a male person and was sentenced to a total of five and a half years imprisonment. Left CH in 1984?
First conviction in 2015, then 2017, and further conviction 9/9/2020 for three further offences and sentenced to a further 12 months imprisonment.
Offences in "1970s and 1980s"

6: Ajaz Karim, (dob 15/09/1954), was found guilty of nine charges of indecent assault and one charge of attempting to indecently assault a woman.
Offences between 1985 and 1993. ?10 year sentence.

7: Gary Dobbie, Revd. (dob 13/06/1951), was convicted of nine charges of indecent assault on a male person, three charges of indecent assault, two charges of indecency with a child and one charge of attempting to indecently assault a male person.
Offices between 1989 and 2001. ?12 year sentence.

8: James Husband, (dob 26/02/1950), was jailed for 17 years, after being convicted of one charge of rape and five charges of indecent assault, all against a female pupil.
Offences between 1990 and 1994.

9: Keith Hudson, (dob ???), convicted in 1998 of 5 counts of moving and concealing indecent material at Croydon Crown Court, following operation by Dover Customs. Was due to be extradited to the Netherlands in 2008(?) for "importing child pornography), but apparantly committed suicide prior to extradition. Signed on as a sex offender for four years, and was banned from working with boys.
Offences 1998 and ?2008

10: Peter Brownlie, (dob ???), Ex-head of brass at CH jailed for sending obscene mail to his childminder whilst teaching at CH. "Horsham magistrates heard that between March 1998 and March 2000 the father-of-two bombarded Mrs Drew with obscene mail and telephone calls. On one occasion he left a pornographic picture on her car windscreen. Magistrates placed a restraining order on Brownlie forbidding him to contact Mrs Drew or Kate Cooper, who moved into Mrs Drew's former home in Southwater. Brownlie was also banned from driving for two years after he admitted drink driving and fined £500 or given the option of serving a 14-day concurrent sentence."
Offence between March 1998 and March 2000

11: Ian Rowley, (dob ??), Former French teacher at CH. In 2017 pleaded guilty to one count of engaging in sexual activity with a boy. His victim was one of his pupils at St Edward's School in North Oxford. He was handed a 16 week prison sentence, suspended for 24 months, and ordered to pay costs of £85 and a £115 victim surcharge. must participate in a sex offenders' treatment programme for 63 days. Left CH in ?1987. Offence at St. Edward's School Oxford,

Roger Martin added to the list - convicted on 4th July 2019 of one count of sexual assault - 4 year sentence.
