Re: CHA versus CHOBA
When I was in remunerated employment, we used a system called "Lotus Notes" to communicate electronically within the company. When two employees started a discussion like this and copied everyone else in, someone senior would tell them to get on the phone and sort it out, because no-one else was interested in their infantile discussion.
Had Ali been at the Carol Concert, it had been my intention to talk to him, as Steve Webb can confirm, but it was not to be.
My apologies to the members of the Unofficial CH Forum for not using the medium of the pm to reply to Ali, but I intend to say no more in public on this matter.

Being Notorious and a VERY old Blue, I believe I am entitled to contribute the following ---
This subject has, now been thrashed to death, and I have, previously suggested that it be dropped from this Forum.
Personal insults and suggestions, are not welcome.

" also suggested at a CH Club Board meeting that the Old Blues Careers Network should have its own interactive website, so that ANY member of the CHA could post ‘jobs info’, ‘vacancies’, etc, thus allowing it to be more open and more efficient." T
This sounds interesting!

Yep. It's on the list as something we're working on in the CHOBA, and has only been limited by the database developments which are underway. I had hoped that the Forum could provide this service too, but it never really took off on here -never quite worked out why.Angela Woodford wrote:" also suggested at a CH Club Board meeting that the Old Blues Careers Network should have its own interactive website, so that ANY member of the CHA could post ‘jobs info’, ‘vacancies’, etc, thus allowing it to be more open and more efficient." The hope is to the current CHOBA Careers Network and build upon that - this will help Old Blues link to Old Blues, Blues link to Old Blues (within restrictions on child protection etc.) and hopefully become a hugely valuable mechanism for enhancing Old Blue relations.
In the meantime, there's LinkedIn, which has a big Old Blues section, and I've used very successfully recently to make a contact in an ISP...

From a YOB:
They have changed the name again? I don't really know what it did in the first place, or ever, and this has just confused me even more. So not good.
Secondly, there are way too many events in London, I agree! London and Edinburgh are not the only places in the UK - I live in Birmingham and although going to the CHA CHOBA or whatever it was carol concert would be nice, it was straight after work (in Brum) and £30 odd plus getting back late that night. I'm not saying that you should have an event in each city but London is not the only place with OBs!!!

This will be included in next Old BlueNEILL THE NOTORIOUS wrote:Where is the Founder's Day Dinner, this year ????

FOUNDER’S DAY DINNER 2010 will be held at Christ’s Hospital Horsham on Saturday 16th October 2010
Chairman of the Dinner will be Richard Poulton (Head Master 1987-1996)
Don't forget there are regional Founder's Day Dinners that also take place. You don't have to go to the London one.

(slightly) does Mr Bee still post or lurk on the forum? I believe he was undertaking the task of resurrecting Kent COBs.

Re: CHA versus CHOBA
I merely was referring to the answer to my question ---- The bit about "WHEN" was not added by me !!
the answer I repeat --- for the illiterate --
"Founder's Day Dinner, this year, will be held on 16th October, at Christ's Hospital."
