Radio 4 mention of CH

Just heard mention of CH on Radio 4, 09:04 02/12/09
Midweek, 9am to 9.45am
Lively and diverse conversation with Libby Purves and guests Seth Shostak, Fergus Anckorn, Guy Masterson and Vyvyen Brendon.
Didn't hear which guest it was who'd been there - said he'd "hated it for two years...." but then think he said "then came to love the place". He rejected the notion that his parents "sent" him there - he'd chosen to go, then hated it for 2 years!

I think Guy Masterson is an OB - but with a different name.... that's off the top of my head!

Yes, Guy Masterson is an OB. His name crops up from time to time in another community I'm involved in. His real name is Mastroianni.

He mentions school films later in the programme. Apparently Richard Burton was his uncle and whilst watching "where eagles dare" he tried to tell the others that Richard Burton was his uncle but no one believed him.
The name does ring a bell, does anyone know when he was at school?

He was at CH in the '70s at the same time as me. Can't quite remember whether he was on my year, or just below. He probably did lots of theatrical stuff, but he was certainly in DNP's re-working of Joe Orton's "The Erpingham Camp".

I think he's in his late 40s now so it would have been late 70s.

He was on BBC Breakfast Time yesterday morning. In imminent danger of becoming Establishment I fear.
