Can anyone shed any light on this ?
I'm sure our illustrious 'Blue' Editor will be as disgusted as I am if this is some political move.

Pure guesswork on my part but there is a commemoration of the 90th anniversary of Armistice Day at Horsham on 11 November for which the Band may well be required.J.R. wrote:Can anyone shed any light on this ?

I guess it cannot be in two places at the same time.

I don't think playing 'The Last Post' would be appreciated at the start of a voyage !!!CHAZ wrote:Bugle band could be used or OBs come back to help out!

They couldn`t get a stage, so I`m told.

One of the biggest (and richest) cruise line operators in the world, for a very prestigious event at a port overflowing with timber and scaffolding could neither find a stage nor build one!!! I am sure, Mrs C, that you are repeating what you have been told, but I find it very hard to believe. They couldn`t get a stage, so I`m told.

Mrs C may be correct because in Housey it says AFTER the Armistice Service the Band will be going.... so no clash of times.

I thought it a bit odd too, but that`s what daughter tells me they were told this week!Foureyes wrote:One of the biggest (and richest) cruise line operators in the world, for a very prestigious event at a port overflowing with timber and scaffolding could neither find a stage nor build one!!! However she did also mumble something about playing when some cruise liner sails from S`hampton - but didn`t know what, why or when .

I have looked at that post about a dozen times and was totally baffled, but the penny has finally dropped! Needed a bit of lateral thinking. Very good, JR - like it.P'raps they should have tried Wells-Fargo
