This is a reply to a letter Jess (my 10 year old neice) sent Jon (her 18 year old brother - a med student)

Jessica,

thank you for your letter. I am fine, i hope you are too. At the moment I am studying the effects of paracrine signalling of histamine from neuroendocrine enterochromaffin-like cells on the secretion of protease zymogen digestive enzymes, such as pepsinogen from chief cells, and hydrochloric acid from parietal cells on the mucosal epithelium of gastric pits in the stomach, when stimulated by gastrin secretion from associated enteroendocrine G-cells. Don't worry I've made lots of new friends and am having a lot of fun.

Your big brother

That really does sound like a lot of fun! What did Jessica make of it?

One can only hope that he intends to become a Pathologist.

PS (but not for Mary or Munch, who will know this) that's because Pathologists only deal with dead people (so they don't need to be able to communicate).

xx

I haven't found out yet what Jess made of it but it certainly made her Mum (MY little sister) cross-eyed.

Jon is at Med school being sponsored by the Army, and from his pictures and new friends on Facebook he is having NO trouble communicating.
