Somebody, somewhere is joking

Got a letter yesterday, April 10th 2008 at around 2pm. It was from Christs Hospital and even contained a copy of "Housey".
Having gone through the OB Benevolent newsletter which had the accounts for somewhere in the mid 1800's (by this time I was totally bemused and totally out of date - which is a normal state) I then came across the invitation for the Old Blues' Day on June 17th.
Aaaaaaaah errrrrrrr, hold on a sec - that is my birthday and no way are they going to hold OB day on the same date two years running or are they? Nah - they sent out the 2007 invitation again.
They have even extended the application date for the CHA Association Manager (sic) to 12th April. (BTW I thought CHA = Christs Hospital Association so is it necessary to duplicate it or am I simply going bananas?)
So I start on Housey and read all about the New Multi-media Language Centre - which I read about a year ago.
Somebody in the CHA seems to be playing games or is it the Post Office?

My copy of Housey! is for Spring 2008. It came with BSB News Annual Review 2007, and should have contained a BSB application form, but didn't!

Just a matter of good order, m'lud. The Old Blue is the CHA magazine, whereas Housey is sent out by the Development Office. You should have had the invitation to OBD as an insert in the Old Blue, which I am now concerned you may not have received.

I got my copy of Housey last week - I have to admit I didn't read it in detail so didn't spot any errors. But my invitation/ application form for Old Blues' Day definitely says Sunday 15th June 2008. Maybe some old newsletters got muddled up with the new ones.

Perhaps I'll get my invitation to this years OB Day in April 2009;

I haven't received Housey for spring 2008 yet. I blame it all on the post - Wuppertal did warn me on another thread and somebpody else mentioned packages being open.
I think that there was some element of duplication because there were several items I had previously seen; it didn't matter because I seem to get most info thro' the Forum

We're about ten minutes from the nearest part of the wine lake and from there on the domaines come at 3 minute intervals. They say there are 140 different viticulteurs in the Malapere so one has to have a sample of each of three, sometimes five wines before going on to the next and by the time you have got through 20 domaines you need to start again to remember that taste. Backward - no, just inebriated.
What you need to attend, young JR is the "Ronde". Take a small village and every producer in the Malapere is there in barns, tents, whatever with their wine samples for 2 days. Costs about £4 for the tasting glass to attend the Ronde (covers both days and every supplier) but you can't buy wines; you take a note of what you like and go there later.

The whole lot arrived yesterday - Housey plus CHA questionnaire. I still can't make OB day

Ooooo 'eck, I see the potential for a good thread here!
Without wanting to nip it in the bud, I'd suggest that you're in the right place if you're interested in getting on the list. I think David Hopgood is the man to speak to (or the other David, the Old Man of the Sea, looks a bit like Zeus - you know the chap), though most people have found an email to... (help me, someone, but I rather suspect she's of the female gender even if she caters for both sexes) at CHA does the trick.
Maybe it's the way you tell 'em?
Looking back, I don't think I've been a whole lot of help, but that's life.
I do what I can...
Ho hum...
(Can't think why I'm in such a good mood this evening)

Happy to help if I can, but my influence is slightly diminished as the CHA office, which is responsible for sending out the Old Blue, is run by women.
Sam (short for Samantha) Rider, has been doing both her job of Development Director (which includes being responsible for Housey) and that of the CHA manager since Zoe Mitchell resigned. Zoe, as you will recall, replaced Sara Voice. The CHA staff are now Michelle Sutlieff, CHA manager, and Wendy Killner, CHA Administrator. So you see, not a male in the CHA office. Hopefully they are not being sexist and discriminating against either of the sexes, something I would find surprising.
I'm pretty certain I have your e-mail address somewhere, but if you want me to intervene, please drop me a pm.
On another matter, I have researched all the Hopgood's in my family tree and am surprised to find that we have never had a David. Maybe we should to change our luck.

The Old Man of the Sea has only just surfaced on this thread .......
Seriously, Jude, I am appalled that you don't receive these things. Please pm me if this is still the case - together the CHA girls and I will remedy it together - I promise.
But .... sssshh! ... Jonathan received his Housey! (I know, 'cos I forwarded it), but I am still waiting for mine some 2/3 weeks later............

Whilst I'm sure this may be annoying for some, I emailed Wendy and asked nicely and became an OB and get Housey and CHA thingy and stuff all da time and also by email!!
One month to go, hurrah!!
