Those interested in Housey's history may like to know that Trollope's famous 1834 history is now available in digitised form at:
http://books.google.com/books?id=yPwBAA ... s#PPP11,M1
Trollepe was Head of the Grammar School at the time (modern Headmaster) and this book is generally considered to be very accurate. Actual copies are relatively rare and quite expensive, so this is a boon to Old Blues.

Not quite sure how but I have managed to save this to my Google library, meaning I can browse at will.
Looks interesting.

Concerning my original posting above, I have been corrected by Rex.

The author of this book was the Rev William Trollope (CH 1809-1817, Newgate Street Staff 1822-1832), who was never the headmaster, as I claimed, but the
son of a former Head, the Rev Dr Arthur William Trollope (CH 1775-1787, Headmaster 1799-1826). To add to the confusion, William’s brother George Trollope (CH 1809-1817) was Clerk of CH 1836-1864.
I am tempted to say "What a load of Trollopes!" but that would be unfair, since, as a family, they obviously served Housey long and well.

There's a copy on eBay at the moment, at £149. Last year there was one at £199. Maybe its the same copy but just didn't sell!

No need to blush, we've all been there!
