SECOND CHA MANAGER RESIGNS!!
Old Blues will be surprised to hear that Zoe Mitchell has handed in her notice. This means that the CHA has got through two managers in its first two years of existence, which must be something of a record!
The great majority of old pupils societies/associations I have contacted seem to have no difficulty in ensuring that one of their own former pupils is employed as the manager, so it is unclear why the Counting House finds it so difficult to find an Old Blue for this post.
Old Blues interested in this job are, therefore, encouraged to watch the "Sits Vac" page on the CH website. Or, if they know of some other Old Blue who might be suitable they should encourage her/him to apply.

It also has to be noted that there is the requirement to employee the best person for the job, within the definition of the role.
Personally, I would think that it would be discriminatory to aim to only employ an Old Blue, unless there is a specific role-requirement which is exempt from the discrimination act? I'm no expert, but I don't think that'd be appropriate?
I'm sure that an Old Blue may have a bonus head-start in the role (they'd understand the ethos, quirks and terminology of the school from day one etc.), but all of those can be learnt quite quickly I'd have thought. I certainly wouldn't want a poor Old Blue in the role over an expert in their field...
The parallel would be whether someone has to be blind to head-up the RNIB?

Today is my last day at Christ's Hospital so I just wanted to say goodbye to you all, and best wishes for your continuing efforts to build on the Old Blue network in the future.
I have enjoyed meeting you all and learning all about the weird and wonderful world of Christ's Hospital and its Old Blues.
I am moving on to take a new role in the commercial sector, which is an excellent career opportunity for me, but I will never forget my time here at CH.
Best wishes to you all.
Zoe

Good luck, and thanks for everything you've done - especially the OBs day - what a cracking success.

A bit off topic, but waiting two months to think about finding a replacement sems typical of the lack of push in the CHA.kerrensimmonds wrote: in Hertford Memories
I have resigned from the CHA Advisory Board (this happened in May) and they are now looking for someone to replace me.
If you are interested, watch out for the call for nominations.
Kerren says that she is now p.n.g. at CH - seems to me from what I have read (and I have never met her, pm'd her or had any contact) that she is exactly the sort of person that they should be seeking to involve. My suspicion (and she has given nothing away) is that "forces" are worried about being shown up by her example. A parallel to Zoe's departure?
