Philip Mayne (Pe A 11-19), the last surviving British officer of World War One and perhaps the oldest Old Blue of all time, has died aged 107.

We had an article on him a few years ago when it was mentioned that if he survived as the last soldier to die from WWI, he might get a state funeral. I assume he has missed it since there was someone else on the South Cosat who was also in the running.

An interview with him appeared in the most recent edition of "The Blue", I believe.
