Hello all.

Was just wondering how many people actually went to St John Smith Square last night? I was there and thought that the numbers were definately down from the last year!

The standard of the music was as normal exceptional, with the first standing ovation for a classical performance that I think I have ever seen (for Harriet Stubbs playing Chopin's Ballade No.4 in F Minor). Other great performances came from the Magic Flute crew who I expect many of you saw last year.

The quality of the female Grecian vocalists this year is great also, and there were three lovely early pieces by several both mixed and single sex groups (Monteverdi's Cantate Domino, Strrozzi's Le Tre Gratie a Venere).

It was nice to actually have more groups of people - it gives more people a chance to perform, rather than restricting the concert to 15 or so individuals, and I think that it made the concert rush by.

A great night once again and I'm sure all who were there will agree. Myself, Freya and Rupert did immensely.

Although not performing, I understand that, as last year, Jonathan was a prominent and crucial presence. What a shame I could not get there.
