As was the "tradition" at the time, I sold mine on my last day for some paltry sum. Now realise that it was a rather beautiful piece of hallmarked silver artistry!

Do you remember or know waht happened to Michael Froggatt?

My broadie seems to have disappeared in one of my moves. I think the wife may have discarded it as it was still attached to an old belt.

We knew each other well at CH. Our Mothers were great friends, and I still have some ancient photo's of him and his Mum on the beach on a Saturday leave afternoon around 1960 !

John R - I of course remember you. Mr Hopkins (sorry can't remember your first name) likewise I have a vague memory. Unfortunately, I have no idea what happened to Michael Froggatt.

I guess, if push came to shove it ought to be possible to buy the buckle NEW from whoever manufactures ??

I still have my buckle on my broadie, i found it the other day with all the doodlings on the inside of it! Many I luv's on there

I found my younger daughter using my broadie (with buckle attached) as a toy for the cat to chew on. I tried to explain about tradition and history but she didn't seem a bit interested. Nor did my daughter ...

Patrick (Tonkin) - I've had an email from Bill Harwood, who says he was the one who bought your Broadie Buckle from you back in 1970!

What's more, he still has it...

He's sure that you and he could come to some agreement - so you could almost certainly have your original buckle back after 37 years....

I've PM'd you a copy of the email, including Bill's contact details.
