firstly does anyone know when this tradition actually started....?
i seem to remember 95 or 96 as being especially good. 97 saw the quad full of toilet paper, and 98 (when it was our turn) my contribution was a huge CLASS OF 91 made from beers cans and string.

ah yes and by 2000 when i started at the school on my deps Grecians were banned from the quad on their ball night!
I do remember as younger teenager dad coming back from school morning after grecians ball and what they had gotten up to-getting band instruments out etc.

we played a rather bad version of retreat and a parade down the avenue on our last night. nothing like playing marches completely drunk, I reckon they sounded better

Mr Gladding's two minis were singled out for 'special attention' for a year to two I seem to remember. We just made a giant bed out of mattresses and duvets in the quad. Didn't get much sleep though cos it a) it rained and b) someone had set up up a tv and video and was playing an Abba concert....

I can't even remember what our year did to the Quad

There was one year when they parked the school bus/coach right up to one of the dining room doors - could have been our year but maybe from a year or so before

My year were rather drunken as I remember.
We weren't meant to march down the avenue and the band was meant to be confined to the quad but we made it out (briefly) through the Art School car park!
The theme was meant to be the Millenium Dome but it ended up as a mess of stuff around the statue and our beloved founder appearing to smoke a spliff!
Paul Carter also made a 'porn tractor' which seemed to consist of wheelie bins...
A couple of years above us, the leavers made Stonehenge out of wardrobes which worked quite well!

Julian - maybe you can fill in the gaps
1992 leavers - I seem to remember Gladding's mini being moved as far down the cloisters as possible, apparently breaking the handbrake cable in the procress (oops)
A set of rugby posts were found and leant up against dining hall and a sheep pen constructed out of dining hall tables. Sheep aquisition failed miserably.
On my squits the statue was covered from head to foot in housey coats and dining hall covered in camouflage netting - which led to fun and games the next morning.
