Has anyone else noticed that there has been a recent spate of "new members" (well, it may be only 2 or 3!) with ITALY in their username?
Someone playing games? Or is it INS forgettting his name and password again?? :D

Not a word from any of "them" of course...... I really don`t understand why people register when the forum can be accessed without the need for registration! (and yes, I know this has been discussed elsewhere!)

Well spotted - yes, it's a bit strange.

None of the accounts have been activated - i.e. it's likely that the email addresses do not exist, and hence they don't receive an activation email.

All of the email addresses are @gawab.com - http://www.gawab.com

If they're not activated after a while, I'll delete the accounts.

That looks decidedly dodgy to me, is someone using the forum for "irregular" purposes?

Strange that bthe applicants should have used ITALY. Looking at the T & C there is the option to include certain words in the address; they are all related to Islamic countries except South Africa and Zambia. The latest knowledge base is written in arabic script but I haven't bothered with a DNS lookup

Another forum I belong to, had problems recently and was closed down for a while. A temporary forum appeared with the same website and we had to re-register. Very quickly there were several strange names and addresses registering unknown to the 'old' members. That time they all had connections with the pharmaceutical industry - the forum is for card makers. None of the new registrants posted anything.

See this post:- viewtopic.php?p=46365#46365

Have just removed all of those accounts as part of a tidyup of inactive usernames.

Will keep an eye and see if they return - none were active.
