I think I saw

Malcolm Rifkind in Tavistock last week. This was very exciting as Devon is not over-populated by well-known faces like London or Brighton. However, it might just have been a bloke who looks like him, but don't spoil it for me ... Has anyone else seen a famous person recently? Or maybe you are famous and saw an ordinary person once.

Tim Benjamin and I found Andrew Marr lurking in The French House in Soho. Tim had a quick chat with him (after a couple of liveners, of course....).
Is he famous enough?

Alan Curbishley signed my copy of his book a couple of weeks back.
Does that count?

I was at Madame Tussaud's last Saturday - I saw lots of famous people there!

I passed Boris Johnson as I was going out of University Parks in Oxford a few weeks ago. Not that surprising I suppose, as he is MP for Henley.

At least he is in or near his constituency which is more than a number of MPs!

Boris! Yay. I like Boris. I often see him on his bicycle near my work. I guess we must be en route between Westminster and his London pad. The poor chap had the women leaning out of the windows of the London Deanery wolf whistling him a month or two ago. He was very gracious about it.
We're also quite near ITN so often see types like Nicholas Owen and other people who I can't remember the name of. And Ricky Gervais is occassionally spotted on the Bloomsbury side too.

I like him. Not in a pervy stalker kind of way, he just looks like a nice bloke.

Former manager of Charlton Athletic FC and a failed candidate for the England job recently vacated by Sven Goran Eriksson.
If football leaves you cold then it is not surprising you've not heard of him so I forgive you, this once

I once went to the ballet and Michael Heseltine was two seats along from us.
It was a long time ago though.

John Bird, (of Bird & Fortune fame)
Dame Virginia MacKenna (Born Free' fame)
But then, they both live near me. Only the best neighbours will do !

I am guessing, as the thread evolves, we will mainly see reports from Oxon, the Cotswolds, London, Surrey and Brighton. Loadsa famous peeps live in the above places. I guess because they're all nice places to live if you can afford it.
Switzerland and the French Riviera fall nicely into the same catagory.

I live in Brighton and very rarely see famous people... when I was working in one of Brighton's leading record collectors shops the 'famous people' used to come in on days that I wasn't there (I missed the opportunity of meeting Brian Wilson)! Over the last two years I have only spotted a few: Mark Williams (Fast Show), Fatboy Slim (in a VW Camper) and Robert Rankin.
