I found out today in the Metro that Starsailor have written a song about Jerry Duggan who was in my year at CH but was tragically killed whilst in Germany - please click http://www.justiceforjeremiah.com for more information...
The Metro interviewed the lead singer of Starsailor - James Walsh and asked:
"Why did you write a song about Jeremiah Duggan (a student found dead after mistakenly attending a right-wing rally in Germany)
I was just inspired by his mum speaking on the radio. The difficulty with writing bout the world is that you don't want to seem patronising or write something you know little about. What inspired me about Jeremiah's story is that he came from an everyday background, got involved in the anti-war effort and was incredibly unfortunate that the group he became involved with turned out to be totally different to what they posed as (Duggan thought it was an anti-war organisation). I was more comfortable writing about that than trying to speak for Iraqis or Africans."
