I think the moustaches act as a sort of counterbalance to the big packs they have to carry.

Ironic, really, as at most amateur rugby clubs that would be regarded as EXTREMELY tame stuff!

Yes, he was Buster at school. If I remember correctly he used to run around the athletics track with a rucksack on in his spare time.
IMO great house captain, true leader yes.

Rory might have an alternative view to offer on Buster, as he was a contemporary - me a mere squit.
Also brings to mind the discussion (somewhere on here) about the term "Housey"......his surname was "Howes".......I was a squit and he was House Captain.......it took me a long time to understand that Howes wasn't a CH term for House Captain.

I think I was

Just thinking of a cute little 11 year old Housey boy with his socks round his ankles like Nora Batty thinking that Howes meant House Captain.

Buster was always one of those blokes for whom the word 'keen' seemed to have been invented.
'Hearty' would also be an apt description, I think......
