CH Never leaves you!

Anything that doesn't fit anywhere else, but that's still CH related.

One of the ones we did was that we had to put a film title in during a roleplay. Not just any film title, we had a to draw a film title at lunchtime and use it during the afternoon.

We did something different every day but it is the film title one which sticks in my head, possibly because there's something about Mary. :D

Col B had cold baths sometimes but the passion for them normally petered out after a while.
Still compulsory for junior dorm in Col B, summer terms as late as 1962, if memory serves.

ALJ was also the master in charge of "chair-shifting" (curious concept). For a while I was the school monitor in charge, so we had to liaise.

The division of responsibilties was: he specified how many chairs had to be shifted where, and I had to supervise the juniors detailed for this task (I think there was a house rota for this.)

It is true that CH never leaves you -------

This evening, I was watching the Evening Service in Westminster Abbey ----

The Choir Trebels (Spelling ?) looked so young, to be singing so well -------

In 1940, the Westminster Trebels were evacuated to CH, and wore grey jackets and short trousers --- instantly recognisable !

The School Choir was pretty good at the time, but I as a CH Trebel could not match the voices of the "Westminsters"

I cannot, after 70 years, remember if they were spread among the Houses, nor, whether they had their own classes.

After some time, they moved on, elsewhere --- but where ?

There cannot be many of us left, who remember them, -- but is there anything in the School Archives, which records their stay at CH ?

I was delighted to hear, as I switched on Radio 4 this morning, that the Today Programmes's utterly reliable racing tip is called Educated Evans

I didn't catch where Educated Evans is running, but if anybody fancies a flutter...

"Angels" (which is really a heavenly name) has become a little more conversant in Internet slang recently.

I can venture the opinion that you, NEILL, are a troll. Your admitted happiness seems to confirm it.

Look it up - I dare you!

I have a lovely picture of a Troll (Statue) taken in Norway, where it seems to be the National Mascot.
There are the Troll Steps, the Troll Wall, images galore !

As to Angels, was it not one of the Popes (an early Benedict ? --- correct me -?) who described the Angels, as such, because of theit hair colour !

Actually they were a pretty awful lot !!

I shal stop doing intentional spelling mistakes and "Typos"
