Moderation please!
Hmmm - DBTS told me he had gone green & become a moderator - quite what of I am not sure - so moderators are in green is that correct (look at the bottom of the very first page of the forum and yes they are green - err - if it is beause they are CHA peeps - should they go a different colour?? who chooses moderators? what qualifications does one need? Is it age dependant or number of posts? Or the least number of peeps who have had their knuckles rapped by Jor S???
Another weird thing - was listening to Classic Fm today - and Josh Bell was mentioned - never got to hear what it was he was playing - but is it the Same Josh Bell, or have I lost another chunk of memory?? (which I may not have had in the first place?!)
'answers in easy language please - for some reason I still don't have my land legs back and keep swying - it may be something to do with the heat up here - last night it hit mid 30C, took a lot of fans, ice cubes and water to get it to a tolerable 25C!! tomorrow they threaten us with higher temps than today - eeek can't cope - going into the freezer!

I went out on my bike today in the (to some) intolerable heat
I found that if you move in slow motion you can actually keep quite cool
The people I most pity is those who are rushing to work on the London underground at rush hour
Pray for them!
by the way - Ora pro nobis meand pray for us
What is the latin for Pray for them?
Ora pro eius?

I have senty out one of those fun chain thingies, 'things you don't know about me'.
One of the questions is
"Where would you rather be right now?"
All 3 of the peeps who have returned it (including Jude) have said "In an air conditioned room".
Not me, I love it.

Or orate pro eis if you want more than one person to do the praying.

I've had that heating on in the summer. it's ridiculous.
I don't understand why they can't have air con in the buses. they were thinking of painting the bus roofs white to reflect the sun ... high tech solutions for TfL.
Isn't the Victoria Line at Victoria station meant to be cooler as they've got water circulating round the platform or something. I'm sure that was on the local news. It's making sod all difference!

I pity everyone on the tube in this heatGreat Plum wrote:Pity me on the tube this morning then...
I have to photograph hundreds of pre-school age children for a nursery school brochure over the next few days - some would pity me doing that in this heat but I'd rather that than be on the tube to a hot and sticky office.

Even hanging out the washing this morning was a chore - it is hot (at least 29C) and very humid - as just about everything we took on holiday got exposed to the sea air, I have more washing in this week than I have normally in a month! At least drying it isn't too much of a problem, although we are promised showers and thunder and lightening this afternoon around 4pm - amazing that they can give us a time!! and yet usually (ie last night when we should have had a storm - nothing happens!)
My cat has found the best place to be - under an ikea footstool where the draught from the kitchen, patio and living room all meet! I'm glad I'm not a cat in this weather - fur coat - I'd want to unzip it!!
