In those far off days we did well enough to field a fiendish cricket team from Hertford, even as long ago as the early 1960's, largely due to the influence of the Headmistress at the time (DR - "Ruth'' - West) who was herself a lady county cricket player, with a passion for the game.. which she carried forward into her retirement, beyond CH.

I do recall a very well endowed (and pneumatic) blonde (from 8s I think, Ethel or Engelbert or something of that ilk??), who bowled like a demon and watching her jamming her towelling jumpsuit zip half way up/down on the morning of the Fathers Cricket Match.

That sounds like Robin Engleheart who was a year or two below me, in 6's. Her sister Natalie was in my year in 1's. They were both blonde - I wouldn't have said either of them was pneumatic, but maybe in a tight jumpsuit?? I vaguely remember reading on Friends Reunited a while back that Robin is now a headmistress

We have discussed them elsewhere but thinking about it they must have appeared in 70/71 becasue I have several pics of us 'revising' for O levels on the field (summer '70) and we are wearing aertex shirts.

Whilst not wishing to traverse threads and intertwine the 'pedant' tread with this one, the discussion was house shirt COLOURS, and we did not have HOUSE SHIRTS we had nasty NYLON SOCKS and horrid TIES in HOUSE COLOURS!!

Given that there were a mere +/- 300 girls compared to about 850 boys at CH any one time it is noticable that the ladies are responsible for the majority of posts. Has to say something about Hertford (or is it about women in general?)

Well, maybe it could be that women are more communicative.......or maybe not? Can I ask, is it proven that there are more posts on this Forum from Hertford women and ladies from Horsham, than from gentlemen Old Blues, either before and/or after the merger......?
This goes a long way from the discussion about House Shirt Colours... at Horsham!

Bbeing on here is like a giant party where the conversations weave and turn. So unless there is an important point being made which NEEDS separating out, who cares! Incidentally anyone can do it not just mods.
