So are the girls in separate houses to the boys?

It sounds like what they did in Leigh Hun - make one of the houses girls and then the other one a girls' house a couple of years later...

SO then the whole house A and B becomes a girls house?

Yup, that'd be right...

yes, i think there is a feww girls in one side of thorn, a set of 2nd form and i think some older year groups, then in the other side is only senior years of boys as Thorn has stopped taking boys in at 2nd form for a couple of years now

Okay being thick ....................................

Which houses are boys and which are girls. And how do Grecians, East and West fit in?

Peele, Middleton, Lamb and Maine are boys

Thornton (to be) Coleridge, Barnes and Leigh Hunt are girls.

The Grecians' houses are fully co-ed (that sounds like a receipe for disaster!) and will take the Grecians from the side of the avenue they are on.

Co-ed, that does sound like a risky idea!

Oh to be in Middleton now, surrounded by girls houses!

Grecians wasnt too risky really, there are seperate wings for boys and girls (well, there was when i was there...)

Do please forgive the silly questions but it is years since I was there.

Are the Grecians houses in the same shape as the older houses and where are they, oh and how many are there?

So far it is only Thornton B. I believe the remnants of the old Thornton boys (A and B) are now amalgamated in Thornton A. I believe serious barriers have been erected to stop unlawful intermingling. When the present boys move out of Thornton A, it will become a girls' house. Only then will the school be 50:50

Thanks David and Vonny, I am slowly getting my head around the way things are now
