Congratulations to the two boys, who have I think shown all of us just what can be achieved in life.. At 19 Everest - what a thing to put on your CV! - Mind you they mind find it hard to hold down a job - after all the wanderlust may have caught them! However, I am truley amazed and proud that they come from the same stable as the rest of us in here....

Wow

for me at 42 - it will be getting to the top of the stairs tonight!

as a 'cub' on camp in munich we went to hitler's 'eagles nest' up a mountain in austria [?] and some of us tried to climb down from it via a vertical cliff face. didn't get very far though..

Certain Councils in GB have actually BANNED the flying of the cross of St George as it MIGHT upset the ethnics !!!

The CH Flag comprises MAINLY of the cross of St. George !!

J.R. YOU HAVE MADE YOUR POINT. YOU DON'T LIKE AMOUNT OF IMMIGRANTS WE HAVE [but you are not, and never have been, a racist!] AND YOU WANT TO FLY THE FLAG. WE KNOW. YOU'VE MENTIONED IT IN THREE DIFFERENT IRRELEVANT THREADS NOW AND IT IS GETTING OLD.

in the st georges thread it had a place perhaps, but seeing as none of us can reverse the decision of your local council, i don't see the point of going on about it.
write to your MP, write to your union, write to "Grumpy Old Men" and have it broadcast. any one of these might help but this won't.

good luck. :)

Well said Hendrik.

I was going to pm you my agreement, but then thought that was rather cowardly.

Isn't most of the flag the flag of the city of London?
