Where are athletics held now if there's a car park on the old site? And the all-weather hockey pitches too?

...and where have all the cows gone...

this may sound ever so slightly..erm.. odd, but I still remember the number of my favourite cow at CH... Her ear tag was DR10... I was a new boy in LHB in 1978.. we used to wonder down towards the gate on Summer afternoons... (pre Old Holborn days... I should add). Each of us in our little group adopted a cow to feed.. we were convinced they recognised us..but then again...But still.. DR10.. those eyes...

So..

Apparently pupils now use Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre for athletics.

The hockey pitches are still there (you can see them in one of the photos).

Could be my parents...

The 'bigger picture' certainly shows the development of the old farm site...

But in the big picture, there is something that looks suspiciously like a running track marked out on the grass behind the Sicker/Sports Centre.

I too have heard that athletics happen at the Broadbridge Heath stadium, but I am not sure whether this is just for big events only or on a regular day by day basis.

Good to see that the old Duck Pond is still there... mind you, I do hope that mucky water doesn't leak throught into their wine cellars.

Less than 2 miles from CH. There is a large supermarket where tuck etc can be bought and where staff do their shopping!!

The Leisure complex has a running track.

I believe RR is regularly to be found exercising in the Kinetica Gym - "a real gym for real people!"

Why go all the way out there when there's tons of land within the school grounds, not to mention a leisure centre already there? Surely it can't be that convenient? What about things like house athletics competitions and school matches etc?

I know the Tesco's store well - we stopped there to go to the loo on the way to David Elliott's funeral!

That's quite a nice sports complex. Some of 'The Girls' went down recently for an evening training session.

Only takes about 20 minutes from my 'umble abode !

The field behind the sicker (which used to be a pitch and putt) does look like a running track!

I think the original intention was to make it a running track - they spent enough time getting it levelled - not quite sure why that plan was shelved.... doesn`t seem to be used for anything at the moment.
