Did anyone ever make fags up from previously smoked dog-ends?
Yes! I remember, out of desperation, nicking 'Pinky' Palmer's dog-ends from the fire buckets.
God, they were awful! However, not as bad as No.6s or, even worse, No.10s.
Really bad, they were.
Sobranie Cocktails (and Blacks) still exist, I think, but are now called something else.
Anyone ever smoke 'MORE' cigarettes? Very long, thin brown things in a red pack.

If you were feeling poor you could take your 16p and buy 20 - was it Carlsboro - in a purple packet
Or cheaper still was a packet of 5 Park Drive

I remember Sobranie - used to buy the turkish blend - v. good for stinking other people out
"More" still exist - horrible things, like trying to smoke a pencil, and burn down faster than your average fuse ( is that perhaps what they really are?)

Oh yes!
My cigarette of choice (unfiltered) until I quit 3 years ago.
Lovely flavour!

I went to France on an exchange the Easter before O levels and smoked a couple. I got on extremely well with the girl I exchanged with and the following summer (aged 17) I went for a visit.
I spent 3 weeks in a pleasant fug of Gitanes and cheap red wine.
Had a couple of quick snogs with her brother too if memory serves.

Gitanes ! Far too dangerous. Like a beacon to any prowling grecian / master within 1 km. Not even a packet of polos could get rid of the smell of the things.
Does anyone remember a brand similar to Moore called " Mahawa " or something like that, same length but a bit like a cigar wrapped in liqourice paper ?

As smoked by Kojak, I believe.
I think we would have liked to have smoked them, but they were too expensive.

There was a time when it was quite popular at C.H. Horsham (the shop in Middle Street had a fine selection).
It was only a passing fad, though.....
Snuff was a "passing fad" in ThB on my UF. Quite a discreet way of consuming tobacco, but not recommended as the tobacco particles are miniscule. I remember an occasion where a friend panicked while taking snuff and inhaled far too much - the results were not pleasant and put me off taking snuff again. The Horsham tobacconist also had a good variety of flavoured tobaccos, "cherry brandy" was pleasant but cut too thick.
My combo was drum and green rizla.

did anyone else ever have a 'concept' machine?
Still available round our local Ram-Jam corner shop.
Good, though the really defeat the object, as you have to use far more tobacco !

Nothing more disgusting than snogging an ashtray...
