20 odd years ago I was on a TV quiz show and won lots of prizes, the funniest thing watching it was how often I said 'please' and 'thank you'.

Though funnily enough, last year the BBC were looking to revive it with Paul O'Grady and I auditioned. The show was dropped however.

I won a case of wine, a VCR, £102 and holiday in the Algarve. Quite good prizes in 1984.

I have yet to appear on 'Millionaire' though I keep trying.

Well, I walked into the Royal Western Yacht Club the other day, and was immediately recognised by David Miller after a lapse of some 50 years. But then as a writer, his powers of observation are unusually sharp.

can I just be annoying and return to the original topic and say that it's not long since I left but i don't think anyone will recognise me! no fringe, brace or glasses now... ooh I did look lovely in those days!! And I am very jealous of all you people going on gameshows! Closest i've got to telly was when Songs of Praise was filmed at CH and I seemed to be in the corner of every shot they showed of the choir, quite glad that no evidence remains of that!

Now someone must have recorded it, the gauntlet has been thrown down.

I wore very thick tortoiseshell glasses until half way through my final year when I switched to contact lenses. I was tall as a child but stopped growing at 13-14 so I am 5'7" but it all meant I looked older than I was. Once I left school, wearing lenses and slimmed down I started looking my age, and thanks to good genes and lots of SPF15 I look no older than my age now, so people will recognise me.

Going back before CH we moved house when I was 9 (so I changed primary school) and 30 years later I bumped into someone from the first school at a badminton club. She had inflicted GBH on me at the age of 8, and when she saw me the first thing she said was 'do you still have the scar?'
