Ok, big (and importand question) about this:
Is there a Turkish (proper food, not jsut kebabs) restaurant in Horsham? If not, where's the nearest one?

When we first visited Crawley when on a visit from S Devon, we were amazed at the shopping mall- we had nothing like it at home. However, the novelty soon wore off once we lived here.
I do know what you mean - I lived near West Quay but after a few visits it soon lost it's initial appeal.

Unfortunately not. There's a place called Babylon Grill which was supposed to be opening a restaurant section, but that will probably just mean that you'll be able to eat your kebab sitting down. Not sure what 'Babylon' has to do with Turkey, either.....
No idea where the nearest real restaurant is......

I think Crawley`s appeal was lost on the second visit!
But for some reason my daughters like the place - ok , it`s easier to get to than e.g. Brighton or Guildford, as they can go by train... but even so...! I`m sure they like it because its shopping centre is fairly compact, whereas elsewhere they may have to WALK somewhere.

I've noticed that there is an A23 'chav' line from Croydon to Crawley via Redhill and Horley...
I have also heard of 'battles' between Redhill and Crawley!

Us lot in leafy Dorking have always called Crawley.......

I saw that Janet !
David Hasselhoff (sp?) has had a lot of press in our local paper recently after making a disparaging remark about Dorking, so maybe this'll take the heat off us for a while.
I LOVED the sign someone put up on the Crawley car-park automated signs after hacking into the Council computer system.

and the Queen visited Crawley on Friday!!!
according to BBC who did a thing on Friday morning about the Queen visiting Crawley has developed and regenerated over the years to a lovely town??? had the people who wrote that ACTUALLY been to Crawely?
