Nothing exciting I hate to say. If you are going to end up needing a wheelchair after a car crash at least it could be spectacular! In my case I was struck from behind waiting at traffic lights. Combine the resultant back damage with an earlier knee injury and hey presto one wheelchair for life.
Funny thing is, I don't feel down about it at all, at the moment it is one big adventure. It has only been a year since the accident so who knows about the future.

is your's mechanical or electric? I caused a dreadful fuss when I borrowed an electric not long after getting out of hospital and was relearning to walk 8 years ago - and it ran out of juice half way down Cribbs Causway - a huge shopping mall in Bristol!!!soc wrote:Thanks Vonnie, It does have certain advantages you know. Going shopping is now fun instead of an annoying chore. With a wheelchair, it is amazing how much trouble you can cause in the aisles!
